Then Vs Now: Actor Who Prove That Change Is The Key To Success
There is an old saying: The more things change, the more they stay the same. That could be the case for some of our favorite celebrities. Or at least how we see them. Because despite them packing on the years, and admirably we may add, many of us still see them as they were when they became famous.
Macaulay Culkin is always Kevin McCallister, Will Smith is always The Fresh Prince, and Tom Cruise is always Maverick. But the reality is that they have changed, not just in looks, but also in talent, becoming more versatile and exploring their professions. Here are famous actors and how they evolved over the years.
Tommy Dorfman – 13 Reasons Why
Tommy Dorfman made her name in the acclaimed and controversial series 13 Reasons Why. Still publicly identifying as a man then, she played Ryan Shaver’s character on the Netflix series. Throughout the series, she continued with the role of a guest star and recurring character while also dabbling in the fashion industry.

One of her notable fashion projects was a design collaboration with British online brand ASOS. She also made her theatre debut in New York with a role in the play “Daddy.” After initially identifying as queer, Dorfman came out as transgender in 2021. In that same year, she also starred in “The Shuroo Process.”
Hilary Duff – The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Hillary Duff Shot to fame in 2001, playing the lead role in the Show “Lizzy McGuire.” Like her peers, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, she was a cultural phenomenon, but unlike them, she made a relatively clean transition into more mature roles. She started with teen roles in films like “Agent Cody Banks” and “Cadet Kelly.”

She eventually moved into more mature and thoughtful roles in “Cheaper by the Dozen” and, most notably, the drama “According to Greta.” She’s also dabbled in music, releasing five studio Albums. She has also been starring in a show called “Younger,” which ran from 2015 to 2021.
Macaulay Culkin – Home Alone
It’s been three decades since Macaulay Culkin starred as Kevin McCallister, the boy who was left home alone for Christmas and sent two burglars packing with his hilarious traps. He’s still remembered that role in the “Home Alone” film franchise. This is despite a glut of other roles.

These include those in films like “My Girl,” “Richie Rich,” and “The Pagemaster.” He saw the funny side and reprised his role nearly three decades later for a Google Assistant advert. He still has many of the facial traits he had in his youth. He has changed though, and in 2021 starred in the tenth season of “American Horror Story,” titled “Double Feature.”
Constance Zimmer – Entourage
Constance Zimmer has built a career on TV with roles in some popular series. These include her star turn in the cult classic series “Entourage” playing Dana Gordon. She also had prominent roles in “Boston Legal” and “Love Bites.” She is also recognized for her stint in “House of Cards” from 2013 to 2018.

Another role that gained her recognition is the series “Unreal.” The show ran from 2015 to 2018, and while starring on the show, Zimmer won a Critics’ Choice Television Award and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2021 Zimmer had several roles, including the series “Good Trouble.”
